About this Maker

Yarmouth Oilskins

A major herring fishing tow in the late 19th to early 20th centuries, Great Yarmouth developed a whole economy centered on fishing and fishermen's needs.    Yarmouth Oilskins has designed and manufactured workwear garments in Great Yarmouth, Great Britain for over 120 years, and still today operates in the same factory, using traditional methods, primarily UK-sourced materials and many of its original patterns maintained in the company's archive.

Of course, the styles and construction of these workwear styles have been adapted to be comfortable as everyday garments: PVC fishing jackets are now made of a lighter dry-waxed cotton, and waxed jackets are now made in non-traditional colors too.

We're excited to bring those true workwear styles, straight from the port of Great Yarmouth to our website ⛵🎣
